DR. BROOKE THOMAS PT, DPT, CDN

Brooke received her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science in 2014 from Wichita State University where she developed a lifelong interest in sports and performance rehabilitation. Following her undergraduate, Brooke attended Wichita State’s Physical Therapy Program where she received her Doctorate in 2017. During her time in the physical therapy program she traveled around the Midwest, Alaska, and Haiti to work with a variety of patients.

After graduating, Brooke worked in Kansas (PRN) in various settings such as inpatient, acute care, aquatic therapy, skilled nursing, and outpatient.

Brooke moved to Alabama where she received her dry needling certification and focused on rehabbing post-surgical patients and multi-level athletes; including amputee patients, military injuries, collegiate athletes, and neuromuscular disorders.

Brooke moved to NC in 2019 and had the opportunity to learn from the Postural Restoration Institute as well as Pelvic Floor Therapy through the Herman and Wallace program.

Alpha Therapy LLC was started in 2021.

Brooke’s experience as a collegiate soccer athlete and as an Army National Guard Veteran with many of her own sports related injuries has influenced her passion for physical therapy because she understands what it is like to live and perform with pain. She is passionate about getting people back to feeling great and doing what they love.

Outside of PT, Brooke is working on her private pilot license. Brooke enjoys spending time with her dogs, fishing, and paddle boarding.

KATY SPEARMAN, REHABILITATION AND HUMAN PERFORMANCE SPECIALIST

Katy is a former military member and SERE instructor who has called North Carolina home for the past eight years. As a proud military spouse and mother of two, Katy enjoys spending her free time bodybuilding and exploring the outdoors with her family.

Her journey into health and fitness began in 2021 as a cycling instructor, where her passion for all things fitness quickly grew. Determined to deepen her expertise, Katy earned her personal training certification and began working with clients from diverse backgrounds, including pre- and postnatal women, members of the Special Forces community, police officers, first responders, and athletes.

Katy’s dedication to competitive bodybuilding has led her to achieve national-level qualifications. Her commitment to excellence inspired her to pursue further training to help others reach their competitive fitness goals.

After the birth of her second child, Katy experienced performance setbacks that led her to seek guidance from Dr. Brooke. Through their work together, Katy not only overcame these challenges but also discovered a passion for rehabilitation and the critical role of pre-habilitation. Her journey proved to her that a properly rehabilitated body can not only return to “normal” but exceed it, reaching new levels of performance.

Now, Katy collaborates closely with Dr. Brooke to empower patients with the knowledge and strength to achieve their healthiest and most vibrant selves.
