What we do
Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle manual therapy that the therapist uses to invite the central nervous system (CNS) to heal itself. This gentle therapy uses a series of techniques and light touch to encourage symmetry throughout the CNS and improve the body’s craniosacral rhythm. This type of therapy is beneficial for a wide variety of patients and conditions including the following conditions sacroiliac/lumbosacral pain, cervical spine pain, surgery, postpartum care, scar tissue, scoliosis, TMJ, migraines, muscular imbalance, chronic pain, bowel issues, sinus issues, and many more.
Return to sports/sport performance
Starting slowly with activity and gradually building up to previous activity levels is important to avoiding injury. Self-confidence concerns and fears can cause anxiety about the possibility of injuring yourself again.
It is important to know how your body functions so when you do have an injury you can help figure it out and get back to being active. Mental training prepares the mind to help you perform at your best, mentally and physically.
Alpha Therapy helps by figuring out how your body works, what you can do to fix your problem, and how you can get in the right mind to recover and return to sports/ sport performance
Post op care
Post op care is all about how you treat your body after a surgery. It is important to know what you can and cannot do following a surgery.
Goals
Maintaining adequate body system functions.
Restoring body homeostasis.
Pain and discomfort alleviation.
Preventing postoperative complications.
Promoting adequate discharge planning and health teaching.
Getting you back to your best you.
Gait analysis
Gait analysis, also known as walking or motion analysis, is a comprehensive evaluation of the way an individual stands and walks. Gait can be influenced by many things such as age, personality, mood and sociocultural factors.
In most cases, gait can be corrected by engaging in certain exercises to improve your coordination and balance, which means strengthening certain muscles to release tension and pain in other places which will soon work your body back to normal
Ergonomics/shoes
Ergonomics primarily refers to the overall process of arranging a workplace, systems, and equipment in a way that makes it easy for people to use them.
You can fix these bad habits by making sure you have good posture when sitting, making sure shoulders are relaxed, having arms and elbows relaxed at a 90 degree angle when working and many more.
Your shoes are important because with a “bad” pair of shoes you could experience many types of pain all over your body.
We like to assess the sole of your shoe, the bend at the toe, how flexible or inflexible the heel of your shoe is, the stability of the shoes on either sides and most of all how comfortable the shoe is to YOU.
